Job Title: Fundraising and Communications Coordinator
Reports To: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, full time 36.25 hours M-F –some weekends
Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00

Summary: Works under general supervision of Executive Director and Development Director. The position is reserved for a person that self identifies as having personal lived experience in the mental health system.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Please note that the duties may vary depending on department size, organizational structure and/or geographic location. Work activities may include any or all of the following:

  • Content Development and Monitoring
  • Writes and collaborates with other departments to develop editorial content for newsletter, social media, website, etc
  • Edits and publishes website content
  • Create a bi-monthly e-newsletter (6 times a year)
  • Writes announcements for new grants and other relevant happenings
  • Prepares talking points and messaging for E.D.
  • Supports media relations, including media grants
  • Monitors and scores earned media mentions, and reports quarterly analytics
  • Take pictures/videos and catalogues images
  • Collects stories of recovery from members of each program
  • Collects pictures and questionnaire from new employees for social media Digital Communications
  • Develops and manages social media content calendar, including weekly highlight of program success Writes social media copy and/or creates TikTok content
  • Assists with social media monitoring and analytics
  • Organizes and maintains the digital “content bank”
  • Develops and delivers email and social media campaigns to share new content with/engage key audiences
  • Updates and maintains the PRPSN’s contact database and mailing lists
  • Assists with video production and photography for events
  • Sends out announcements and any major changes on website to contact list
  • Oversees intranet content management group and leads meetings
  • Project Management
  • Plans events to “fundraise”
  • Oversees digital and creative projects, and coordination among teams
  • Manages collateral, design needs and vendors for the PRPSN’s external events
  • Manages vendors and consultants to oversee production of collateral and publications
  • Keeps projects on track, on time and on budget
  • Works cooperatively with others to assure the smooth and seamless delivery of comprehensive services to members, attends required trainings and meetings and participates actively in the community life of worksite
  • Contribute to and support a culturally diverse and sensitive environment. Maintains an open and cooperative approach. Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects people of different genders, ethnicities, cultural values, sexual orientation, race, language, religion, age, disability, family composition and socio-economic status
  • Maintains a clean, positive, and supportive work environment and a general spirit of cooperation. Is a team player who maintains effective working relationships and communicates clearly in a respectful and professional manner with staff, members and outside agencies
  • Works cooperatively with others to assure the smooth and seamless delivery of comprehensive services to members, attends required trainings and meetings
  • Must have a desire to work with individuals impaired by extreme distress / mental illness and believe in an individual’s ability to recover from disabling mental distress
  • Must verbalize an initial and ongoing understanding of environmental variables that may present while performing administrative tasks and/or providing direct services as an PRPSN employee (i.e. individuals presenting at the agency in extreme emotional states)
  • Must exhibit good personal judgment, a non-bias attitude, sensitivity, and discretion when dealing with other individuals 
  • Must demonstrate the skills and ability to “work and play well with others” interacting with co-workers, program participants, family members and Community partners effectively and responding appropriately when experiencing interpersonal conflict with others.
  • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
  • Models PRPSN approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence

Skills:

Position Requirements:

  • A passion for PRPSN's mission and program areas
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of substantial work experience in a communications-related field
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working in and a sound understanding of a broad range of disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement and manage diverse communications strategies and activities
  • Strong creative thinking abilities and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization and develop strong professional relationships externally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and CMS platforms
  • Proficiency in HTML, video production, photography, CRM platforms, and digital assets management a plus
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships
  • Peer Advocate Certificate/Training and demonstrated experience in peer support, peer advocacy or self-help. Obtaining a    Peer Specialist certificate within 6 months will be required for any candidate that doesn’t currently have one
  • Class C driver’s license, daily access to a car and proof of valid automobile insurance
  • Flexible work schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Employees are required to carry adequate limits of liability, with a minimum of $30,000 for property damage and $60,000 for bodily injury. A copy of the declaration page of your personal automobile insurance policy must be provided to PRPSN annually
  • Lived experience of a mental health challenge
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • Experience within the philanthropic/nonprofit sector is preferred

 

Physical Demands
