Ashley Flores is a Program Manager for PRPSN’s CORE peer support group program.
She brings 10 years of experience, has a wealth of expertise and is a Board Member of CAYEN.....She is also a CORE Gift Master Trainer, Honest Open and Proud (HOP) trainer and holds a Peer Advocate Certificate. At PRPSN, Ashley appreciates the ability to meet people where they are at in their recovery journey and walk side by side with them instead of in front of them.
She also enjoys learning about the challenges in accessing services in different communities throughout LA County and how PRPSN staff can be a part of the solution.
For Ashley, Peer Support is the ability to offer nonjudgmental assistance to individuals through a person-centered approach. It’s encouraging but not pressuring, it’s connecting but not intruding and it’s understanding that everyone works, develops and progresses in their recovery at their own unique pace but that wellness is obtainable for everyone.
Creativity and compassion are Ashley’s driving values. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, playing video games and going to the movie. Her favorite quote is, “happiness is a journey, not a destination.”
